Administration Finalizes Decision to Remove East High School Coach
Process for removing Brian Clodi as head coach of East High School boys basketball is finalized on Friday.

will not be retained as head coach of the East High School boys basketball team for next year, a district official confirmed Friday afternoon.
“The process and decision was finalized today,” said District 303 spokesman Jim Blaney.
Last week, East Athletic Director Jerry Krieg recommended that Clodi not be brought back for next season. This recommendation rested on approval by the school’s principal, Bob Miller, which reportedly was finalized Friday.

District officials have declined to comment on circumstances behind .
News of the pending removal of Clodi as head coach spurred a student protest last week involving many members of the boys basketball team and other students at East High School.

Boosters, parents and student-athletes—both past and present—pleaded with the school board in support of Clodi at a meeting on Monday. At that time, district Superintendent Donald Schlomann indicted that there was "not a difference of opinion" between Miller and Krieg about Clodi's future.
Blaney said that the job opening will be posted on the district's website, d303.org, as soon as possible to try to have a head coach in place for camps and other team activities in the summer.
