Emergency crews recovered the body, which was then transported to the county morgue.

An autopsy conducted on Sunday confirmed the man’s identity, though his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, according to coroner's office officials.

Preliminary findings indicate the cause of death appears to be drowning, with final results pending toxicology testing, according to the coroner's office.

The coroner’s office is working with St. Charles police as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death continues.
