St. Charles police and Meijer security said video showed him leaving without paying, while Davoust and State's Attorney Jamie Mosser describe it as an honest mistake. Davoust is now barred from the store.

Record 16,000 Votes Help Award $7,500 to Five Therapeutic Gardens Nationwide (perishablenews.com) β A St. Charles-based program, Rising Lights Project, just won a $3,000 first-place grant to expand its therapeutic garden for adults with disabilities. The award comes from the National Garden Bureau's national competition, recognizing the garden's hands-on education in horticulture, sustainability, and life skills. Organizers hope the funding will help grow services and community impact.

3. Iconic '70s Band Makes Tour Announcement 51 Years After Releasing One of the 'Best Hard Rock Songs of All Time' (parade.com) β Foghat's latest Twang and Bang Tour will bring the classic rock band to St. Charles on November 14, giving local fans a chance to hear "Slow Ride" live more than 50 years after its release. The tour also includes stops from Kansas to New York before resuming in early 2027. The current lineup features founding drummer Roger Earl and three newer bandmates.

Illinois Wesleyan volleyball visits Elmhurst in CCIW play (herald-review.com) β A standout from St. Charles, junior outside hitter Alex Bardouniotis, is leading second-ranked Illinois Wesleyan in kills as the Titans head to Elmhurst for a key CCIW volleyball matchup. The team is off to a 14-1 start, matching last year's hot opening and riding a seven-match win streak. Strong setting and defense have pushed IWU near the top of national offensive stats.
