The school nurses at St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 are reminding parents about immunization information for incoming preschool, kindergarten, sixth- and ninth-grade students, as well as for incoming sixth- through 12th grade students.
According to the district’s website, all students entering walk-in speech therapy, preschool and early childhood programs, kindergarten, and sixth and ninth grades must submit a copy of their state of Illinois Physical Examination to the Health Office at their respective school prior to the first day of school.
Students who are not in compliance with these state mandates, the district says, are subject to exclusion from the school setting until such time their health/immunization records are submitted to the health office and reviewed by the school nurse.

Parents of 2013-14 Incoming 6th-12th Graders
All students in grades six through 12 must present proof of having received a dose of Tdap (the whooping cough one-time booster defined as tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) prior to the start of the 2013-14 school year, the district says.
Illinois Administrative Code requires that all students entering sixth through 12th grades have received a one-time dose of pertussis booster regardless of the interval since the last DTaP, DT or Td dose, the district says. If your child already has received this one-time booster and it is on file in the health office, the district thanks you in advance for your role in preventing the spread of whooping cough.
