Students and staff at Bartlett Elementary were evacuated for about 20 to 30 minutes Wednesday morning as a safety precaution due to the smell of natural gas, according to a Facebook update from School District U-46. The Fire Department determined there was a minimal carbon monoxide leak.
The Fire Department completed a room-by-room check of the entire building and determined the building is safe and has authorized the school to allow re-entry and resume normal operations, according to school officials.
