CAMPTON HILLS, IL -- A Campton Hills homicide case is now in the hands of the Kane County State's Attorney's Office. The Campton Hills Police Department turned over information gathered during its investigation into the death of 53-year-old Mary Summerwill. Summerwill died from cranial injuries after being struck several times with a baseball bat, Coroner Rob Russell told the Daily Herald.
Summerwill was found dead in her home in 40W600 block of Willowbrook Drive on the morning of March 24. Prosecutors would not comment on the case but authorities did say there is no danger to the public and that the death was an "isolated incident," according to the news release.
It's an isolated incident. Nobody is in any danger," Campton Hills Police Chief Steve Millar told the Daily Herald. "It's up to the state's attorney as to what they're going to decide the charges are going to be."
