CELEBRATE AT FOX LAKE SERIES OF EVENTS FOR SUMMER 2015 SEASON ANNOUNCED

Save the dates for some old-fashioned summertime fun!

The Village of Fox Lake is excited to announce its Summer 2015 line up of great events to Celebrate at Fox Lake. Kicking off on Saturday, June 20th with a free concert located at Lakefront Park (71 Nippersink Blvd.), the series of family-friendly festivities will continue throughout the summer with plans for an unforgettable 4th of July, a movie screening on the lake, Venetian Night, and a Cardboard Boat Regatta (just like the famous boat races that have been taking place on the Chain O’Lakes for decades). Fox Lake is a perfect place for the whole family to create summer memories to last a lifetime.

Concert By The Lake Saturday, June 20th Enjoy a musical venue under the stars at Lakefront Park (71 Nippersink Blvd) from 7-10pm. Sponsored by the Village of Fox Lake Parks and Recreation Department, the public is invited for a night of free music and dancing, with entertainment provided by The Hat Guys, a popular cover band that plays a diverse selection of modern and classic hits spanning several generations and multiple genres. This family friendly event is free, and food and beverages will be available to purchase. Bring lawn chairs and blankets!

Celebrate Fox Lake Saturday, July 4thStart your July 4th off with a bang at 11am at the annual 4th of July parade, sponsored by the Fox Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry. After the parade, festivities will continue at the Lakefront Park Building, sponsored by the Village of Fox Lake. The purchase of a $10.00 wristband will include Euro Bungy, face painting, mechanical bull rides, a 70-foot obstacle course, games, and more until 8pm. The band Enough Said will be performing live from 7-9pm, and there will be food, a beer garden, and a vendor/craft show throughout the day. At dusk, Chain-O-Lakes Fireworks is thrilled to bring back Fox Lake’s fireworks show. This will be held on the Northwest corner of Nippersink Lake, to be seen from land and water. Movie By The Lake Saturday, July 18th - At dusk, Fox Lake’s Parks and Recreation department will host a complimentary showing of Disney’s BIG HERO 6. The family friendly PG-rated movie runs for 108 minutes, which the entire family can enjoy with complimentary popcorn. Non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.

Venetian Night Saturday, August 1st - At 6pm catch a Venetian Style Boat Parade at 33 West Grant Avenue. Boats can be registered for $25.00 and have the chance to win prizes based on creativity, lighting, costuming, and decorations.

- 1st Place: $500.00

- 2nd Place: $300.00

- 3rd Place: $200.00

The Boat Parade will be followed by an upbeat Street Dance Party located at the end of West Grand Avenue. There will be music in the street and a variety of food and beverages available until 12pm. Dress to impress according to the theme “A Zombie Apocalypse On The Chain”. The night will come to a close at dusk with a grand Fireworks Finale at 33 West Grand Avenue. The Village of Fox Lake Parks and Recreation Department will be offering free shuttle service for the event from three locations Millennium Park, Village Hall and the Community Center in 15-minute intervals, from 6-11 pm. Additionally, parking at all of the Metra lots is complimentary. Venetian Night is an event for the whole family, though parental guidance is advised during the later hours. 18th Annual Cardboard Boat Race Sunday, August 16th - Boat races have made the Chain O’Lakes famous, and now, Fox Lake is pleased to provide their own! For $30.00, participants receive a boat building kit to enter the regatta as a competitor. Kits will be available at the Village Hall beginning July 1 for off-site boat building. Registration and on-site building begins at 8am on August 6th. Both on and off-site building include the following five categories.

- Ages 10 and under

- Ages 11-14

- Ages 15-20

- Ages 21 and older

- Business entries

Life preservers aren’t provided but are mandatory. This is an event for the whole family, with food, games, shop vendors, and a DJ.
