Chicago Man Killed Sunday In Head-On Motorcycle Crash
The man drove into oncoming traffic while trying to catch up to the large group of motorcyclists he was riding with, according to police.
ST. CHARLES, IL — A 24-year-old Chicago man died Sunday in St. Charles after crashing his motorcycle into an SUV while driving into oncoming traffic, according to police.
Jorge Perez was riding with a large group of motorcyclists and stopped to block traffic for the group at the intersection of North 5th Avenue and Country Club Road, police said. Perez then tried to catch up to the group riding north on 5th Avenue by passing into the southbound lanes, according to St. Charles police.
As Perez crossed into oncoming traffic, he struck an SUV head-on, police said. He was unresponsive when paramedics arrived and was taken to Delnor Hospital, where he died of his injuries Sunday night, according to police. The driver of the SUV was treated by paramedics at the scene.
