Christmas 2017: What's Open, Closed In St. Charles

ST. CHARLES, IL — It's almost time to gather the family and tear into those carefully selected presents (you've finished your shopping, right?). While some people — including employees at some retail stores, as well as emergency responders — will be working on the holiday, many area businesses and offices will be closed, giving workers a day off.

Here's list of what's open and what's closed in St. Charles for Christmas 2017.

  • Post office: Closed
  • Federal offices: Closed
  • St. Charles offices: City offices are closed
  • DuPage County offices: Closed
  • Kane County offices: Closed
  • Schools: Closed
  • Libraries: Closed
  • Banks: Closed
  • Gas stations: Open
  • Retail stores: Some will be closed, some — including a few area grocery stores — will be open, but check the hours before you go.
