Coronavirus Fears: St. Patrick’s Parade In St. Charles Cancelled
The popular parade has been called off amid concerns over spread of COVID-19.
ST. CHARLES, IL — As concerns continue to spiral regarding the spread of COVID-19, organizers in St. Charles have decided to cancel Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The St. Charles Business Alliance, which organizes the annual parade, announced the cancellation Wednesday morning.

The cancellation came shortly after the postponement of the South Side St. Patrick’s Parade and announcement that Chicago’s popular parade has also been called off. The Thom McNamee Memorial Parade in East Dundee has also been cancelled.
All parade entrants and participants should expect a call from St. Charles Business Alliance staffers regarding the parade.

The parade, which draws thousands to downtown St. Charles every year, was slated to step off at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Other events planned for the weekend in St. Charles are currently still on. Organizers are encouraging residents to check the St. Charles Business Alliance website for updates.
