Coronavirus in St. Charles: 188 Cases, 2 Deaths

Public health data shows the deaths of two residents — a 90-year-old woman and an 87-year-old man — have been linked to the coronavirus.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The number of St. Charles residents who have tested positive for the coronavirus has more than doubled since the start of May, according to public health data, which shows 188 total cases in the city. St. Charles also recently recorded its first two coronavirus-related deaths, the data shows.

The number of confirmed cases continues to rise as testing capacity expands, with almost a dozen testing sites in Kane County, including Delnor Hospital in Geneva. The state of Illinois launched a drive-thru coronavirus testing site at the Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora, which can collect up to 600 samples daily, and VNA Health Care is offering free testing by appointment at its locations in Aurora and Elgin.
