District 303 Approves Superintendent Contract

ST. CHARLES, IL — The District 303 School Board approved a new contract for its superintendent at a meeting Tuesday night. The contract for Jason Pearson will run from July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2022.

“As a school board we have worked hard to define a focus for the district going forward," said School Board President Carolyn Waibel said. "The school board values Dr. Pearson's expertise, as well as his long term service to District 303. Through our redefinition of goals, he will be a strong partner to continue to support exemplary student growth, academic achievement and positive social emotional development."

Pearson is in his tenth year of service in District 303. He joined the administrative team in 2010 as an assistant superintendent and became Deputy Superintendent in 2016 before being named superintendent in 2017.

“District 303 has a strong reputation for excellence in instruction and student achievement. I am proud of the commitment shown by our staff members in meeting the educational needs of all students. I am thankful to the school board for giving me the opportunity to continue to lead and support the collaboration and continuous improvement efforts in the district,” Pearson said.

Pearson earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Belmont University, followed by a
Master’s of Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. He continued his education by earning his Doctorate in Education from Vanderbilt University.

During his teaching career, Pearson taught music in elementary and middle school before serving for ten years in school administration, first as a kindergarten to 8th grade school principal and then as a middle school principal in the Williamson County School District in Tennessee.

Pearson is also a 2007-08 recipient of the Fulbright Administrator Exchange Grant from the U.S. State Department.
