The sheriff's office sergeant stopped a car on northbound Randall Road just south of Silver Glen Road in ST. Charles Township at about 7:13 a.m. on April 27 when a 2016 Mercedes Benz failed to slow down and was involved in a sideswipe crash with the squad car, according to police.
"Luckily, there were no injuries as a result of this crash and both vehicles were driven from the scene, but this crash continues the dangerous trend of people failing to accept the responsibility of ensuing they are operating their vehicle in a safe and controlled manner," police wrote in the news release.
Khan was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and a Scott's Law violation, which requires drivers to move over and slow down for emergency vehicles.
