ST. CHARLES, IL — A Kane County judge reduced the bond for a 42-year-old St. Charles Township man accused of running his pickup truck into a 7-year-old girl while she rode her bike on Mother's Day and then fleeing the scene. The bond for Brian Quartuccio was reduced from $500,000 to $350,000 during the May 28 hearing, according to online jail records. A family member apparently posted 10 percent of that bail, or $35,000, and Quartuccio was released from jail on Thursday, Kane County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Patrick Gengler told Patch in an e-mail response.

Quartuccio is charged with failure to report an accident and driving on a revoked license in a crash that caused injury in connection with the Mother's Day hit and run. As part of the conditions of his release, Tengler ordered that Quartuccio wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet and remain at home from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 am., according to the Kane County Chronicle.

He also could be visited and searched by Kane County Court Services, according to the article.
