Following dinner, local teens will perform RENT, SCHOOL EDITION.  Set in the East Village of New York City, RENT SCHOOL EDITION is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award® for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, RENT has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages. This adaptation has been carefully done, working to retain the dramatic intent of the revolutionary rock musical. Changes to language and the removal of one song ("Contact") make it possible for young actors to perform this piece. RENT SCHOOL EDITION is rated "PG" for adult themes.

Teen actors include well-known faces as well as newcomers from the Western Suburbs.  AURORA: Nik Kmiecik; BARTLETT: Katie Jackovin; CAROL STREAM:  Elisabeth Reuter; GENEVA: Beth Kahan, Carolyn Knol, Madeline Donatelli; GLEN ELLYN: Sarah Schulte; ORLAND PARK: Sarah McKevitt; SOUTH ELGIN: Alec Medina, Leikyn Bravo, Lindsey Gallaher; ST. CHARLES: Alex Adams, Amanda Sallmann, Erin Newman, Haley Daeschler, Jack Lindberg, Rachel Whiteside, Sebastian Bielski; SUGAR GROVE: Connor Madziarczyk; WEST CHICAGO: Maegan Daniels.
