The City of St. Charles is hosting a blood drive Wednesday, August 31, from 2 to 6 p.m., sponsored by the Heartland Blood Center. The Heartland mobile coach will be in the parking lot at City Hall, on the corner of Riverside Ave. and Main Street.
Donors must have a photo ID; be 17 years old (16 yrs. with written permission from parent/guardian); weigh at least 110 pounds; be symptom-free of cold, flu, and allergies; and generally be in good health. All donors will receive a certificate for a free quart of Oberweis ice cream.
Please consider becoming a donor. Heartland serves area hospitals, including Delnor Hospital and Provena Mercy Medical Center, which rely on a steady supply of blood donations.

To schedule an appointment online, go to www.heartlandbc.org. Choose: “Donating,” “Schedule Appointment Online,” “Open to the Public,” and type in “Saint (not St.) Charles” for the city location. Or, call the City of St. Charles Human Resources Department at 630-377-4446 to make an appointment. Walk-ins always are welcome, but scheduled appointments are preferred.
