Come See our Garden Grow

The University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners invite the public to visit their Idea Garden.  Eight different garden beds are on display.  Display beds include:  tomato techniques, sensory garden, rainbow garden, Shakespeare garden, a moon garden, and a make your own shade garden.

The centerpiece garden is a suburban interpretation of an African keyhole garden. Keyhole gardening is a technique used to grow vegetables in dry climates. They consist of a raised circular bed with a path to the center. In the middle is a basket that holds compost and self-fertilizes the bed.
