Executive Lock Up

GREATER ST.CHARLES AREA, Ill., -- On Tuesday, June 5th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., community officials, executives and business leaders from the St. Charles, Geneva and other surrounding communities are expected to be “locked-up” for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  These big hearted “jailbirds” will raise money to benefit local families living with neuromuscular disease.

Participants will be “arrested” at their place of work and arrive via MDA “paddy wagon” to the Kane County Cougars Baseball Stadium, located at One Cougar Trail Road in Geneva, where they will serve one-hour sentences.  The Batavia Fire Department will provide volunteer drivers to assist with the event as well as the MDA holds a great relationship with the Fire Fighters from their summertime Fill the Boot program.

The Edminson Family, of Geneva, will be key guests of the event as this family is fighting back against Muscular Dystrophy to assist their two sons diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Son Ryan, 12 years old, also served as the 2011 Official Illinois State Goodwill Ambassador for MDA.

“The surrounding St. Charles community understands the vital importance of what MDA does for those we serve. This lock up event allows the MDA to provide comprehensive medical care, support groups, and life-saving research for our local children and adults.  On their behalf, we give our many thanks for the generosity and continued support in our fight,” Allison Gronski, Fundraising Coordinator.
