Back by student demand, the Fox Valley Rep Performing Arts Academy is excited to have advanced theater youth audition for 2 exciting programs this spring – an intensive Master Acting Class for teens and Beauty and the Beast kids musical at Pheasant Run Resort (4051 E. Each week a different industry professional will guest at FVR to teach an intensive workshop on a discipline including on-camera acting, monologues, improv and audition technique for theatre. Guest instructors include successful Director Matt Miller of TPR Casting, Talent Agent Michael McCracken of Shirley Hamilton Agency, Improv Actor Jock Schloss, Fox Valley Rep’s Artistic Director John Gawlik, and more.

Open auditions are Friday, March 16 from 5-7pm OR
Sunday, March 18 from 1-3pm in the Utrillo Room in Gallery Hall at Pheasant Run Resort. Teens should prepare and memorize a 1-minute monologue. Bring a professional 8 x 10 headshot attached to a proper actor's resume. If accepted, class dates are April 15 to May 20, 2012 on Sundays, 5-8pm. No appointment is necessary.
“This advanced class really connects our technique classes with the real world of today’s theater industry. Students will be able to apply what they have learned so far and master them into skills taught by some of Chicago’s working industry professionals,” says Fox Valley Rep Education Manager Tracy Whiteside.
Beauty and the Beast Jr: Kids Mainstage Musical
Kids 7-11 years old are invited to audition for the Kids Mainstage Musical performance class of Beauty and The Beast Jr. Open auditions will be held in the Utrilllo Room in Gallery Hall at Pheasant Run on Friday, March 16 from 5-7pm or Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 1-3pm. No appointment is necessary.
Interested youth should prepare and memorize a one-minute-or-less monologue and 16 bars of a song that best displays their talent. Bring a CD with backing tracks only--no vocals. Do not bring sheet music or sing a song from the show. Singing a cappella is not recommended. Be prepared to dance with proper shoes and clothing. Bring a headshot and a resume to the audition.
