ST. CHARLES, IL - Sept. 14, 2012 - Filmgoers in St. Charles Illinois will unite with audiences in over 300 cities spanning six continents to view and judge the work of the next generation of international filmmakers at the 15th Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival screening at the Arcada Theatre, Sunday, Sept. 30  at 2 pm and at 5 pm.

Out of 520 entries received from 49 countries around the world, MANHATTAN SHORT selected 10 short films as finalists. Each film is 18 minutes or under in length. Countries represented include Norway, The Netherlands, Russia, England, Ireland, Peru, France, Romania, Spain and the USA. 


 


Ron Onesti, owner of the Arcada Theatre, said this year's selection of film shorts is outstanding. 


 


"This event is one of the things I love most about having my own theatre," Onesti said. "The excitement of being part of up and coming talent and having the opportunity to have the audience join in the selection process is something we love to do."


 


Audience members will receive a voting card upon entry and will be encouraged to vote for their choice of the best film short. Votes are tallied at each participating venue and are submitted to festival headquarters where the winner will be announced in New York City. Results will also be online atwww.ManhattanShort.com  on Sunday, October 7 at 10 pm.
