Claudia’s Closet and Le Belle Donne have teamed up to make 10 girls dream for PROM come true this year!

Claudia’s Closet opened April 1st 2011 and kicked off the PROM season only to find out that due to the economy there were several girls that would not be able to go to prom because they simply could not afford it!  Even with Dresses priced under $65.00!  We felt that is very tragic!  Could you even imagine NOT being able to go to your PROM???  Let’s face it the economy is not getting better and we all need remember that we need to give before we can receive…KARMA.  If you have a prom dress in your closet, feel free to drop it off at Claudia’s Closet for donation, or even consign it!  The more donations, the more winners!  Help us make dreams come true this year!

One night last April, shortly after we opened, a car abruptly stopped in front of our store and woman came flying out of the passenger side and almost fell in our store.  We were concerned that she was in danger or injured, much to our surprise, she was searching everywhere for a prom dress for her niece.  A few minutes later her niece and mother came into the store, they explained to us that this young lady had special needs, due to an accident.  She was in a coma for 9 months and the Priest gave her the last rights.  The family was having financial difficulties but couldn’t imagine that this young lady that almost died would not even be able to go to her prom!  The first dress she tried on, she fell in love with, we matched up jewelry, shoes and hair accessories for the “Total Look”  and with her speech impairment explained that she would be the beautiful princess at her prom and not only would she wear this dress to her prom, she would wear it on American Idol when she sings a Taylor Swift song for the judges.  She then belted out with full emotion “Romeo and Juliet”, word for word, not missing a beat!  Her mother, aunt, my mom and I were all in tears.  What an amazingly emotional moment!

She is truly living prove that life is a gift and we should all take note that no one should ever miss out on these special moments in life.  You never know what the future brings and we are very grateful to have been a part of that special night with this beautiful young woman who not only got a second chance at life, but was able to go to her prom!  And hopefully one day we will see her on American Idol!  These are the best moments in life, you can help another young lady make her dreams come true too!

The result…Claudia’s Closet has decided to give away 10 PROM dresses this year.  Claudia’s Closet teamed up with Le Belle Donne, who has volunteered their services as mentioned above.
