UPDATE: Fire Does $500,000 in Damage to Home

No one was injured in the Oct. 20 fire.

A Thursday night fire at an unincorporated Campton Hills house remains under investigation Friday, according to one official. 

No one was injured, said Greg Benson, chief of the Fox River & Countryside Fire District. The fire did an estimated $500,000 in damage to the house and property inside.

At about 6:30 p.m., firefighters were called to the 5N000 block of Prairie Lake Boulevard, which is in an unincorporated area between St. Charles and Campton Hills.

Crews from Fox River district and and six other departments battled the fire, which was concentrated in  empty attic spaces, Benson said.

Flames and smoke were visible, pouring through the roof, before firefighters were able to get it under control.

A preliminary cause should be available by early next week.
