Have You Heard About District 303’s Community Backpack?

It's a great place to pick up info that used to be sent home with your kids via fliers.

Some parents will remember the handsfuls of fliers their kids used to bring home. For the parents who don’t remember that, their parents will.

But St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 tried to do away with that some time ago with it’s Community Backpack, a kind of online clearinghouse of information distributed by nonprofit organizations, intergovernmental agencies and some of the district’s business partners.

The district says the Community Backpack has proven not only green — eliminating all that paper children used to bring home — and has saved district personnel a ton of time. The district estimates that distributing this information via its Community Backpack saves about 2,500 hours per year spent sorting and handling the materials.
