Hydrant Flow Test on Ohio Avenue Is Tuesday
Residents may see rust in the water during or immediately after the testing procedure, but the water is safe; however you may want to refrain from doing laundry until the water is clear.
The St. Charles Fire Department will conduct a hydrant flow test at 3620 Ohio Ave., from about 8 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012.
Drivers in the area during the test are advised to use caution when driving through areas being flushed due to water that may be on the pavement.
Residents may experience rust in the water during or immediately after the testing procedure. The water is safe; however you may want to refrain from doing laundry until the water is clear. In the event rusty water discolors clothes while being laundered, please be sure to keep the clothing wet, and contact the Public Works Department at 1-630-377-4405 to request a rust-removing solution packet.
