Man With History Of Domestic Violence Arrested Again: Police
Deonte Wilkins of St. Charles faces several felony charges following the incident early Tuesday.

KANE COUNTY, IL — A 27-year-old St. Charles man faces domestic battery charges after he became angry with a household member, punched and slapped their face and grabbed their throat, prosecutors said Wednesday. Even after the member of his household called 911, Deonte D. Wilkins, 27, of the 1 to 99 block of North 15th Street, continued to batter the individual, pulling them off the sofa and onto the floor before knocking a table over, according to a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.
Police arrived at the scene just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday and Wilkins fled the home, disobeying a police order to stop until he was captured and taken to the St. Charles Police Department station, according to the state's attorney's office. Officers found ecstasy in his pocket, authorities said.
Wilkins has been charged with domestic battery with over four prior convictions, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and resisting a police officer.

Bail has been set at $25,000 for Wilkins and he was released on his promise to appear in court, according to the news release. He has been ordered not to have any contact with the household member or go near their home. He also must surrender all firearms to police.
Wilkins is next expected in court at 9 a.m. on May 21.
