No Motorcycles For Year For Driver In 143 MPH YouTube Chase Video

The 24-year-old St. Charles man was sentenced Friday. The police chase on Randall Road last June was captured on video by the driver.

A St. Charles man who cops tracked down and arrested after he posted a video on social media of a 143-mph chase down Randall Road was sentenced Friday, the Daily Herald reports. Brian A. Bianco, 24, of the 36W600 block of Oak Road near St. Charles, entered a guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving and was sentenced to 100 hours of community service as part of his conditional discharge and was ordered to not possess or drive a motorcycle for a year, according to the article.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors dismissed more severe charges in the case, according to the Daily Herald. He was originally charged with aggravated fleeing a police officer exceeding 21 mph over the limit, aggravated fleeing and eluding of police officer disobeyed two or more traffic control devices, aggravated fleeing/conceal/alter registration and disobeying a police officer.

Authorities said Bianco used a helmet camera to capture his own reckless driving on video during the June 26, 2017 incident. The video shows Bianco stopped at a red light on Randall Road in St. Charles when a St. Charles Police Department officer got out of his car and approached him.

The officer planned to address several violations with Bianco, including the fact that he didn't have a registered license plate and failed to signal a turn, but Bianco took off on his motorcycle, according to a news release from St. Charles Police Department.

The YouTube video shows the motorcyclist passing between cars and running a red light on Randall. Bianco then allegedly ran another red light and reached speeds of 143 mph while heading north on Randall, according to police. Meanwhile, the police officer never pursued the vehicle.

A clip of the officer approaching and Bianco fleeing the scene is included in the YouTube video titled "BIKERS VS COPS - Motorcycle Police Chase Compilation #15." The video is posted by YouTube user FailsAndFights. The FailsAndFights website apparently solicits videos of police chases, which are then posted on the site's YouTube channel.

St. Charles Police become aware of the YouTube video when they received an e-mail this past week with links to the YouTube account, a Facebook page and Instagram account. The investigating officer was able to identify the driver in the video based on the Facebook profile, authorities said.
