Pheasant Run Tower To Be Demolished In Sections: Officials
Crews can not simply implode the former Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles due to its close proximity to nearby buildings, businesses.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Cranes will be used to take apart the 160-foot room tower at the former Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, and the massive structure will not be leveled by a single implosion, officials said this past week.
The Daily Herald is reporting cranes will lift Bobcat machinery to each floor of the building as part of the demo process, taking the building down bit by bit, receiver Josh Nadolna of Great Lakes Property Services LLC said during a hearing Thursday before DuPage County Judge Bonnie Wheaton.
Adam Rome, a lawyer for the receiver in charge of the demolition, said crews could not simply implode the building due its close proximity to nearby buildings and a car dealership. Great Lakes has received three bids for demolition costs of the building but those prices have not yet been disclosed to the court, according to the Daily Herald.

Wheaton on Thursday did OK Great Lakes moving forward with removal of all window panes in the tower building, which will cost $18,400, according to the article. The building has more than 200 broken windows, which Great Lakes officials say is a safety hazard.
A fire started in May 2022 at the resort damaged buildings at the former resort. A second fire earlier this year lead to further damage. Last month, the city requested the building be demolished and the building's owners have agreed to the demolition.
