Probation Ordered in Alleged Sex Assault at Daycare
Julio Marquez pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated battery.

COOK COUNTY, IL - A 74-year-old St. Charles man accused of sexually assaulting two children at an unlicensed daycare that his wife ran out of a home in Schaumburg has been sentenced to probation. Julio Marquez pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated battery in the public way and was ordered to serve two years of probation, the Daily Herald reports. Marquez was originally charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13 years old
Prosecutors said Marquez sexually assaulted two girls, one who was 3 years old at the time and the other who was 4 years old, in 2012. One of the alleged sex assault victims came forward in May 2017, the Daily Herald reports. The girl said the assaults started when she was 3 years old with the abuse continuing between 2008 and 2012 at the daycare, which was located in the 400 block of West Wise Street. The second victim, who was 4 years old at the time, reported she was abused during the same time frame.
Marquez, who is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13 years old, remains in custody at the Cook County Jail.

A judge also ordered Marquez, of Jens Jensen Lane, to have no contact with anyone under 18, except for family members, according to the Daily Herald. He must also pay $649 in fines.
