Release Date Set For Movie Filmed In Downtown St. Charles

"The Killer" is expected to hit the theaters in November. Most of the David Fincher movie was filmed at Hotel Baker.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A m0vie that was filmed in downtown St. Charles is set to be released later this year.

Directed by David Fincher, "The Killer" is expected to hit the theaters on Nov. 10 and is about an assassin who begins to "psychologically crack as he develops a conscience, even as his clients continue to demand his skills," according to IMDB. Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton star in the movie, which is based on a graphic novel.

A large portion of the movie was filmed in Hotel Baker, and a Sugar Grove couple, Denise and Jack Feltes — as well as their cars — will be featured in the film, according to Shaw Media Network. Filming took place at night, and the first night the couple filmed from 6 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.

St. Charles Mayor Lora Vitek met with Fassbender and Swinton and says she's thrilled Fincher picked St. Charles to film his movie.

"There are a lot of businesses that have been touched by the movie," she told Shaw Media. "When that movie is released, it's a great thing for our city."
