Bartlett Crash: 2 South Elgin High School Students Killed, 3 Injured
Three others were injured in the collision Thursday morning on Route 25 at Kenyon Road.

SOUTH ELGIN, IL — Two South Elgin High School students are dead following a crash near the high school Thursday morning.
The collision happened at about 7 am. at the intersection of Route 25 and Kenyon Road when a 2002 Honda Civic collided with a 2007 Mack semi-tractor trailer, according to a news release from the village of Bartlett.
Four South Elgin High School students were in the Honda Civic. Two female passengers in the Civic were killed in the collision — one was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to an area hospital where she later died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to authorities.

The female driver of the car, another female passenger in the car and the male drive for the semi-tractor trailer were all take to area hospitals with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The School District U-46 Crisis Team has been activated at South Elgin High School.

The Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigative Team is assisting Bartlett Police Department with the investigation.
Route 25 remains closed between West Bartlett Road and Graham Road following the crash.
