St. Charles Celebrates Memorial Day

Thousands gather to honor those who gave their lives in service to the nation.

Under bright skies thousands gathered along Main Street to celebrate Memorial Day and the soldiers who died in the service of their nation.

Hundreds along the walkways waved Old Glory during the parade that followed an early morning 21-gun salute to remember the fallen.

There were cheers aplenty for the veterans who marched in the parade as well as the young men and women of various scouting organizations who contribute so much to the community.

And a fitting end to the parade was the St. Charles North Marching Band proudly playing John Phillips Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever."
