St. Charles Couple Has First Delnor Baby of New Year

A St. Charles couple has bragging rights this year for delivering the first baby of the New Year at Delnor Hospital.

Ricky and Jona Takayama are the proud new parents of Makiko Takayama who was born at 9:25 a.m. on Jan. 1 and weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 19.5 inches, according to the Kane County Chronicle. The couple has another daughter, Kelly, 4.

Labor began at 6 a.m. on New Year’s Day for Jona who gave birth to Makiko a short 3.5 hours later, the newspaper reports.
