St. Charles High Schools Among the State's Best: U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News and World Report released its annual best high schools list Monday.

St. Charles North High School and St. Charles East High School are both ranked among the best high schools in the state, according to the U.S. News and World Report’s 2016 Best High Schools list.

St. Charles North High School received the better ranking on the annual list, coming in at No. 25, while St. Charles East High School was ranked as the 47th best high school in the state. Nearby high schools also made the annual list: Geneva Community High School was ranked as the 69th best high school in the state and Batavia Senior High School was ranked as the 93rd best high school in the state.

"More than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia," states U.S. News & World Report. "Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college."

The report includes information about curriculum, test scores and student demographics.

In the state, Northside College Preparatory High Schoolcame in first. The No. 1 high school in the U.S. rankings is theSchool for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas, Texas. Adlai Stevenson High School was ranked as the best suburban high school in the state--coming in at No. 5 on the Best High Schools list.
