The past week was a busy one in St. Charles and would not be complete without mention of some of the other accomplishments that the City Council recognized on Aug. 19, 2013.
Among them were a presentation, introduced by Fire Chief Joe Schelstreet, about the St. Charles Fire Department receiving its accreditation from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, Presentation regarding St. Charles Fire Department Accreditation – presented by Chief Schelstreet and discussed by Mayor Raymond Rogina.
Schelstreet noted the international accreditation put the St. Charles.Fire Department among the top 186 of an estimated 40,000 fire departments in nation to receive the accreditation.

The council also recognized Mitchell Joseph Scollon of Boy Scout Troop 56, issuing a proclamation and a key to the city honoring him for his accomplishment of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
Finally, the City Council joined with St. Charles Moose Lodge 1368 by issuing a proclamation celebrating July 13, 2013, as the 100th anniversary of the lodge and the work it has done in the St. Charles area for all those years.
