St. Charles House Fire Under Investigation
A Saturday night blaze left a St. Charles home with $10,000 in damage, fire officials said.
ST. CHARLES, IL — Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out late on Saturday at a home in St. Charles. Two residents were sleeping at the home in the 200 block of Tower Hills Drive when they woke to their smoke alarms going off at about 10:17 p.m. and were able to get themselves, and their two dogs, out safely before fire crews arrived, according to a news release from the St. Charles Fire Protection District.
Firefighters first at the scene found heavy smoke coming from the home and a blaze in the basement, fire officials said. They were able to bring the fire under control within about 15 minutes.
No one was injured in the fire and the blaze caused an estimated $10,000 in damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to a news release.
