St. Charles liquor license changes opposed by some businesses

Restaurant owners opposed to revision in liquor code that would require full menus until closing. Owners say this would cost the businesses an additional $30,000-$50,000.

The Kane County Chronicle reports that several restaurant and tavern owners are opposed to a revision in the city's liquor ordinance that would require those businesses to provide full menus until closing.

The owners said such a requirement could cost the businesses an addtional $30,000 to $50,000 annually. A proposed revision to that requirement which would still have restaurants serve a limited menu until 11 p.m. was tabled and sent back to the Government Operations Committee. The committee should address the proposed revision May 21, the Cronicle reported.
