St. Charles Man Busted With $20K In Weed Gets Probation

Aaron Soloff was pulled over in Aurora earlier this year. He has been sentenced to 2.5 years of probation and to pay court fines.

KANE COUNTY, IL – A 24-year-old St. Charles man busted after police found nearly $20,000 worth of marijuana during a traffic stop in Aurora earlier this year has been sentenced to 2.5 years of probation and to pay court fines. Aaron Soloff pleaded guilty last week to manufacture/delivery of 500 grams to 2,000 grams of marijuana, according to online court records. He has also been ordered to pay $8,465 in fines.

Soloff was pulled over by police in the 600 block of Westgate in Aurora on Feb. 20 after he rolled through a stop sign, according to police. During the traffic stop, Soloff seemed as though he was trying to hide something when they stopped the car.

Police ordered Soloff to get out of the car and found vacuum-sealed bags that contained what turned out to be two pounds of marijuana. They also located "several cartridges of cannabis oil," according to a post on the Aurora Police Facebook page.

Police say the driver was let go with a traffic ticket and Soloff was taken to Kane County Jail.

Michael Byrne, Soloff’s attorney, said his client “had some addiction issues he was dealing with” and for that reason, was a good candidate for probation. Soloff can be resentenced to prison if he violates the terms of his probation.
