St. Charles Man Charged With Home Invasion

He is accused of breaking into a South Elgin apartment and fighting with a man inside.

SOUTH ELGIN, IL — A St. Charles man faces a home invasion charge after he busted down the front door and then the bedroom door at a South Elgin apartment and fought with a man inside, the Daily Herald reports. Bail has been set at $100,000 for Alan Lopez-Farias, 34, of the 800 block of Geneva Steet, following the May 28 incident at a 29-year-old woman’s apartment on Kane Street. Lopez-Farias broke into the apartment late Tuesday after refusing to leave and fought with a 34-year-old Glendale Heights man inside, according to the article.

Lopez-Farias is charged with home invasion, a class X felony; trespass to a residence, a class 4 felony; and criminal damage to property, a class A misdemeanor, according to online court records. He is next expected in court on June 7 for a plea hearing.

He has been ordered to have no contact with the victims or the apartment where the alleged home invasion occurred.
