St. Charles PD Releases Arrest Numbers from Holiday Enforcement Effort
Local officers were out in full force over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The St. Charles Police Department completed a 14-day enforcement period over the Thanksgiving holiday in connection with the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket traffic safety campaigns.
During this enforcement period, which was held Nov. 14 through Nov. 28, St. Charles officers assigned to the extra patrols made four DUI arrests, one drug arrest; one Driving While License Suspended arrest and issued nine citations for speeding, six citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and six citations for other offenses. Detail officers also issued 21 written warning tickets for various equipment and other violations, according to a news release.
Additional patrol officers were assigned to enforcement details centered on the busy holiday travel season at night time hours when impaired driving is more likely to occur. This was done in cooperation with, and funded by, the Illinois Department of Transportation. This initiative is part of a statewide program to reduce the number of traffic related injuries and fatalities.
