St. Charles Teachers to Attend White House 'Healthier Schools' Ceremony
The event is hosted by first lady Michelle Obama.

Five teachers are expected to attend a White House ceremony Monday, hosted by first lady Michelle Obama.
The event will recognize schools as part of the Healthier U.S. Schools Challenge, according to a District 303 email. Each St. Charles school received a $500 federal grant earlier this year for taking part in the challenge.

In 2004, the Healthier U.S. Schools Challenge was created to recognize schools as part of the National School Lunch Program making strides in health through nutrition and physical fitness, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture website. Last year, the first lady combined the challenge with her campaign, Let's Move!
