St. Charles Woman Accused of Hitting Boyfriend With SUV After Fight: Police

ST. CHARLES, IL - A 37-year-old St. Charles woman faces several charges for allegedly hitting her boyfriend with her sports utility vehicle after they two got in a fight, the Daily Herald reports.

Jeanelle M. Joeckel, of the 500 block of South 13th Street, had been out at a bar in North Aurora on Feb. 18 with her 40-year-old boyfriend prior to the argument. The boyfriend was driving Joeckel's SUV home when the couple got into a fight and Joeckel punched the man in the forehead, according to the newspaper.

When they arrived home, Joeckel, who had prior DUI arrests, attempted to drive off but the boyfriend put his hands on the hood of the SUV in attempt to stop her, St. Charles Police Department Deputy Chief David Kintz told the Daily Herald. This is when Joeckel allegedly struck him with the vehicle.

The boyfriend, who suffered minor injuries, called police the next day.

Joeckel has been charged with domestic battery which causes bodily harm, aggravated battery using a deadly weapon, failure to report of accident or injury and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury or death, according to online court records.

Her bond was set at $50,000.
