Teens Arrested for Stealing Cash, Jewelry From Cars in St. Charles
Police continue to investigate reports of other car break-ins in the city.

Two St. Charles teens have been arrested for breaking into and stealing from unlocked cars in the city Wednesday night, police said Thursday.
St. Charles officers were dispatched to the area of the 400 block of South 19th Street after a caller reported watching two juveniles enter unlocked vehicles in the area. Police found the teens, who were identified by the witness, and both boys said they were coming from a friends house but were unable to say where the house was, police said.
The two St. Charles teens, who are 15 and 16 years old, were arrested and each charged with two counts of burglary from a motor vehicle, which is a class 2 felony. Officers recovered wallets, jewelry, cash and phone accessories for a car during an investigation into the burglaries.

The teens were released to their parents and have been referred to juvenile court services. Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation into other car burglaries in the area continues.
The St. Charles Police Department is asking anyone in that area who is missing any items to contact the police department at 630-377- 4435 to make a report. Police have already received reports of vehicles being entered on 19 th, Howard and Evergreen streets.
