Weekend Fun For Families with Kids: June 27 - 29, 2014

Find me on www.mommybytheriver.com and on Facebook!

Happy Weekend! I hope you have been enjoying summer as much as I have. Even with all of the rain that has been falling, I am just so thankful that we can get outside, jump on the trampoline, visit a park, go to an outdoor concert, enjoy the pool and well, the list seems endless in the summer, doesn’t it? By the way, if you have not heard about my June Giveaway to the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Chicago (in Schaumburg), you only have until this Saturday (June 28) to enter to win four tickets. You can find out more about the contest and enter to win here. The winner will be picked at random this Sunday, so be sure to stay tuned! And now for my “Top Picks” for the weekend of June 27 – 29, 2014

In my Top Picks this weekend, you won’t want to miss out on the Birds of Prey – Adventures in the Zoo event taking place at the Elgin Public Museum in Lords Park–these animals are just plain cool. For those of you who are ‘dog people,’ make sure to check out Robin’s Amazing Dogs at the Ella Johnson Library in Hampshire. And I’m excited to share that Carol Stream–my old stomping ground–is holding an event for individuals with special needs–the Special Kids Carnival Days! Best of all, they are all FREE or CHEAP! And if they ask who sent you…tell them The Mommy did!
