Andrew High School to Welcome New Inductees to Athletic Hall of Fame

The Andrew Athletic Department will host the second Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on Monday, Sept. 22, as a part of the 2014 Homecoming Week festivities.

The 2014 Hall of Fame Inductees include athletes Eric Novak, Christine Magnuson and coaches Mike O’Neill and Terry TerHaar.

The induction ceremony will take place in the main gym at Andrew High School starting at 6:30 p.m.. A catered buffet dinner and dessert table will be provided as well as coffee, iced tea and water. Tickets for this evening are $25 per person. Tickets can be purchased from the athletic office by calling Connie Virgilio at 708-342-5839 or emailing CVirgilio@d230.org. Tickets must be purchased by September 17. Tickets will not be available at the door.

This year’s inductees include:
Athlete Eric Novak - Wrestling

• 3-time Conference and Regional Champion
• 2-time Sectional Champion, 2-time All State and 2000 IHSA State Champion
  

Athlete Christine Magnuson Girls Swim

• 2-time IHSA State Champion in the 100 meter Free
• Swam for University of Tennessee and claimed All American Honors 23 times
• 2008 Olympian and Silver Medalist
• 2011 Gold Medalist at the World Championships
  
• Inducted into District 230 Foundation Legacy Hall

Coach Mike O’Neill Football

• 11-times led T-Bolts to Conference Championship and playoff appearances
• 2-times made it to the State Semifinals
• 130 wins during Andrew coaching career
• 5 former players and 5 former assistants are now head coaches in high school football
  

Coach Terry TerHaar Badminton

• 6 times led T-Bols to State Championships
• 13 overall top three finishes
• 20 Sectional titles
• Illinois Girls Coaches Association Coach of the year in 1995 and 2000
