Andrew HS features career exploration opportunities

Career day and hands-on experiences

Andrew High School Guidance Director Drew Eder, Counselor Jim Malec, student Lea Grabowski, and Division Chair Tim Dalton shared with the School Board a sampling of the offerings provided to help students explore careers.

They featured Career Day where 100 professionals come to campus to share their professional story as well as highlights about their field. They also highlighted the number of programs available through Moraine Valley that allow students to see firsthand what different careers are like.

Senior Lea Grabowski shared her story of finding a passion in firefighting through the Moraine Valley program that allowed her to explore fire science including using a fire hose, wearing the protective uniform and observing firefighters as they put out a fire.
