Bannes Honors Everyday Heroes at First Responder Appreciation Day
Local schoolchildren show appreciation for community's first responders

Tinley Park Police Officer Mike Harmon answers Bannes second graders’ questions at the school’s annual First Responder Appreciation Day on April 19th. In keeping with the Bannes tradition started by fourth-grade teacher Paula Lucca, the school offers complimentary breakfast, lunch and snacks to local first responders on one day each year to show appreciation for our community’s everyday heroes. This year, more than 35 local law enforcement officers and firemen stopped in for a visit at the elementary school.
