Business Comings & Goings: Old Navy to Open This Weekend in Tinley Park

, which is moving from Lincoln Mall in Matteson to , will open its new store at 7410 W. 191st St. in with a sneak peek starting at 5 p.m. Friday.
Shoppers will have to pick up a special 20 percent off sneak peek coupon at other retailers in .
The store will open Saturday at 9 a.m. with a host of guests and events including a DJ, stilt walkers, balloonist, and food from local restaurants including , , , and .

The opening events continue on Sunday with a costume contest. Guests can visit the store anytime to have their pictures taken for the contest.
The store will donate 5 percent of grand opening weekend sales to the local Boys & Girls Club.

concluded its 2011 season last week, while the will end its season this Saturday at Zabrocki Plaza at Oak Park Avenue and North Street.
Orland Expo is Saturday
The annual Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce Expo is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at at 131st Street and LaGrange Road in Orland Park. Admission is free.
The Expo includes a Culinary Corner featuring 10 local restaurants and a Car Show. There also will be raffles, face painting and a Kids Fair sponsored by Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn. For information, visit www.orlandparkchamber.org.
Marquette Partners with Toy Box Connection
Marquette Bank recently teamed up with the Toy Box Connection and sponsored the second annual Toy Box Connection Golf Outing at Silver Lakes Country Club in Orland Park.
The Toy Box Connection is a nonprofit organization based in Orland Park that connects children in need with the gift of a toy.
Nearly $8,000 was raised and donated to the Toy Box Connection.
Toy Box Connection was started in June 2008 by Michelle Maxia, an Orland Park mother of two and retired police officer. Since its inception, Toy Box Connection has distributed more than 1 million toys to nonprofit groups that, in turn, have given them to hundreds of thousands of children in need. Such nonprofit groups include Together We Cope, Loyola’s Ronald McDonald House, Lambsfold Women’s Center and Mooseheart Orphanage.

Ribbon Cutting at Medical Center
The Center for Integrated Medicine is holding a ribbon cutting open house at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at 9442 W. 179th St. in Tinley Park. RSVP to the Orland Park Chamber.
Ross Dress for Less Opens in Orland
The California-based off-price retailer Ross Dress for Less opened to a huge crowd Saturday morning at Orland Park Place mall in Orland Park in the former Old Navy store.
Store hours will be Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Other new stores opened Saturday in Matteson, Algonquin, Arlington Heights, Bloomingdale, Crystal Lake, Naperville, Niles, Rockford, Schaumburg, Skokie and South Elgin.
Middle Eastern Grocery Store Closes in Tinley
Devon Groceries, which opened two years ago at 17105 S. 88th Avenue in Tinley Park, recently closed its doors.
Business Unwrapped in Orland
The Orland Chamber is sponsoring a Business Unwrapped seminar on employee health benefits at 11:45 a.m. Friday at the , 14921 S. Ravinia Ave. The public is invited. Bring your own lunch.
Orland Township to Host Job Fair
Orland Township is hosting a free job fair for both residents and non-residents on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Orland Township Activity Center, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave. in Orland Park.
A variety of company representatives from different industries will be present to meet with participants, including the insurance and financial fields.
Companies scheduled to attend include Plastipak Packaging Inc., Cintas, Allstate Insurance, Lowe’s, Norfolk Southern, Prudential and more.
Business attire is required and attendants should bring updated resumes for distribution.
