On February 21st, the D140 Board of Education awarded a certificate for character, citizenship and bravery to Millennium Elementary fourth grader Angelina Marsella. Board President Thomas Martelli congratulated Angelina on her “see something, say something” quick thinking and thanked her for her courage.

While on a recent Florida vacation with her family, Angelina saw an elderly man floating face-down in a hotel swimming pool and alerted nearby adults who took action. Her intuition and willingness to speak up were instrumental in saving the man’s life.
