D140 Community Honors Retiring Band Director at Spring Concert

In recognition of retiring Band Director Raymond Forlenza’s 32-year career in Kirby School District 140, the Band Parents Association commissioned a work by world-renowned composer William Owens. The original piece, entitled “Infinite Wonders”, was performed live under the direction of Mr. Owens by the Concert and Symphonic bands at their spring concert on May 2nd. In addition to many D140 families and current and retired staff members, the packed event was also attended by band alumni and even Mr. Forlenza’s own high school band director.
