D146 Closes Schools, Moves To e-Learning Ahead Of Friday Storm

D146 administrators have decided to close schools and implement an e-Learning plan ahead of Friday's storm.

TINLEY PARK, IL — School District 146 schools will be closed Friday, a decision made in advance of what's predicted to be a significant winter storm that could bring up to nine inches of snow with 50 mph wind gusts to the Chicago area.

The schools will instead shift to an e-Learning day, according to an announcement from the District. Teachers will send out information via Seesaw or Schoology, officials said. Students should check for assignment information at their regular start time, administrators said. All before and after school activities are also cancelled.

District 146 schools include Memorial, Fulton, Fierke, Kruse, and Central Middle School. The district serves Orland Park, Tinley Park, and Oak Forest.
